Sam and Piccolo
15 Animation: Sam, a man, and Piccolo, a creature, live together in an isolated valley. The two friends lead simple, uneventful lives but are content. After eating a unique nut that Piccolo discovers growing on a small tree, he wonders: Why aren't there more nuts? He wants more. Piccolo learns that watering the tree produces more nuts, but as the nuts grow, so do his cravings. In time he discovers that things other than water will make the tree grow and much more spectacularly. But, as the tree grows stronger, it seems that everything else in the valley is diminishing. What has Piccolo got himself into? Will he see just what is at stake? Or will he be too late?

Silent Radio
30 A Wyoming cowboy and his wife put up a friend from New York who wants to write about the area -- but no one realizes how extreme the real story will become when she tries to take a character based on reality back with her across the eastern border. A curious drifter in an all-night cafe coaxes the story out of the cowboy, word by word, until neither can escape the truth of what's happened. 'There was this line she was gonna let me cross,' says the cowboy in this mystery of American East and West. 'She had somethin' that was mine and she was takin' it away. It was like stealin'.'
