Rommel and the plot to kill Hitler![]() |

DOCUMENTARY: The struggle between the individual conscience and the dictates of
state sponsored ideology with all its attendant evils (Nazism, Communism) is well
documented today. We see here a living picture of a few individuals who knowingly
risked their lives to follow their conscience. The July 20, 1944 plot to kill Hitler
was the culmination of years of struggle not only to kill the beast but to win over
men of good will to their cause. One of them was Erwin Rommel who came late upon
the scene due to his political naivete and his absence in the desert battles that
covered 1941-43, during which he was unaware of the Holocaust in the occupied East.
When awakened, he acted. Festival: Roving Eye Documentary Film Festival 2006, Palm Beach International Film Festival 2006, BIG BEAR LAKE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2006, Bluegrass Independent Film Festival 2006 |
